Waterphone Price Comparisons
I am a one person company making all items except the bows. As a reference point for the cost of Waterphones all of which are hand made I would like to point out the following: A Waterphone cost the same as a mass produced midrange guitar or a low end DAT recorder or low to mid range keyboard. Of all of the items that I make the Waterphone is the most complicated in terms of assembly and tuning with the latter taking a very long time. Working with stainless steel and bronze takes special equipment and tools. The cost of stainless steel and bronze is very expensive. When you look at a finished Waterphone it may look simple and easy to make but it is not as there are lots of problems to resolve both in the assembly and the tunings.
As the inventor of this instrument, the Waterphone, it is important to me to make each one better than the last one. If you decide to purchase one of my Waterphones or other instruments bear in mind that you are investing in a one-of-a-kind, custom made, musical instrument from the inventor which will increase in value into the future.
